ENTERTAINMENT ATTORNEY (ILS-ENT-11707)
This is an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Corporate Counsel with an entertainment law background to work in a start-up environment with the backing of a major corporation. This person will act as the subject matter expert working with all the major players in the entertainment arena. The position will be report to the Vice President, Law & Deputy General Counsel.
Primary responsibilities will include reviewing and advising, as well as drafting, and negotiating, agreements for the acquisition and distribution of network products and services that will allow media and entertainment content to be more effectively delivered to the company's customers. With the goal of delivering content that improves the digital experience, the successful candidate will become involved in transactions covering the acquisition of network primetime series, major motion pictures, home entertainment productions as well as for the development and production of original programming and distribution. Other core responsibilities will include analysis and advice in connection with intellectual property matters, claims, clearances, advertising, rights of publicity and privacy, and other personal and property rights.
Requirements: Qualified candidates must have a JD from a top-tier law school, be a member of the CA bar, have eight years or more of experience at a major law firm and some years of solid experience as an entertainment lawyer at a production company, major studio or television network. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and positively with all levels of management, collaborate effectively with other lawyers and business clients, manage a high-volume workload efficiently, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
